Grief Coaching

Grief is a universal experience, and none of us is exempt.
Grief has a profound impact on every aspect of life, often rearranging priorities, shifting perspectives, and reshaping relationships. In the wake of loss, you may find yourself reevaluating what truly matters to you, reprioritizing your goals, and gaining a newfound appreciation for life's fleeting moments. Your relationships may undergo transformation as well. Ultimately, grief serves as a catalyst for significant personal and interpersonal shifts, prompting individuals to navigate the delicate balance between honoring the past and embracing the future.

Why do we grieve anyway? We grieve because we love. Grieving is not a disease.

It is a necessity that follows no linear pattern. Grief takes time. Grief cannot be eradicated; it must be experienced. And there is no need to go it alone. Partnering with a grief coach gives you a safe place to land and simply be.

What is Grief Coaching?
Grief coaching, an untapped non-therapeutic paradigm, shifts the perspective that grief is an illness that needs to be treated, fixed, or cured. Instead, it empowers you to open yourself up to allow your normal and natural responses to loss. Grief coaching helps you to navigate the landscape of loss and, in time, thrive into your own renewed personal sense of normalcy. Grief coaching does not infer, provide, or replace professional counseling, therapy, or mental health services.

"Grief changes us. It rearranges our priorities, our sense of self, our relationships, and our imagination."

Kind Words From Tisa's Clients

A friend told me about Tisa after I lost my identical twin sister to cancer. My sister’s death followed several years of other kinds of loss (divorce; financial) and change (a move across the country; an empty nest). I had met with several “grief” therapists but felt little meaningful support. Tisa was different. Tisa met me right where I was. She intuitively understood my exhaustion and grief. She guided me gently, gently – knowing I could only take tiny bites. She encouraged me to look at the magnitude of my loss and to be intentional about how I would keep my sister’s memory in my life. As my capacity expanded, she taught me about the Enneagram, so I am learning why I am the way I am! She has given me tools to pivot away from some of my negative behaviors and patterns that threaten to disrupt new opportunities and relationships. She has introduced me to practices such as expressive writing and morning rituals that sort out my jumbled feelings and give me confidence in my decisions. She’s the whole enchilada -- psychological, spiritual, practical, grounded, funny, and kind – just what I needed.
